It's very thin, only an inch thick at most on the plug part.The one thing I would change is to give it more hanging options. I wish it had those cross looking holes that allow you to hang it any of the four directions. I like this product a lot. It only has two holes in the back and they only hang one way, with the cord and the switch on top.
Its a litte big and bulky, but it serves its purpose well. Has plenty of room for those large plugs that normally take the space of 2 or 3 normal plugs.
We use it behind the TV in our living room--works great. Plenty of plugs leftover still

You wont know that it's no good until it fails to protect your electronics during some sort of surge. I received it in a timely manner and would purchase another if needed. As far as I can tell this surge protector is working as intended. This unit was listed at a good price for its features.
